Lets say you have a Kenmore dryer, and it won't start, and that dryer looks like the one to the left in the image. You are going to want to check a few things, 1. Is there Power to the dryer?
2.Will the control panel/display screen light up?
If you have both of 1 and 2 working then lets move on to the next step. these dryers have a somewhat of a start switch on the belt system, so what happens is when the dryer belt breaks the dryer will not start, So now you are wondering how you can check the belt! Well the easy way to check to see if the belt is broken is to open the dryer door and spin the Tub. if the tub spins freely(real easy like there is no tension) then you have a Dad belt.(or it came off the pulley) Now taking these dryers apart a pretty tricky.. really recommend you call a pro to install the belt.
Now say you Spin the tub and there is Tension on the Tub..
I would check the dryer door switch, and you can find that, when you open the dryer door,it should be a black switch and you can test that by pushing on it, Does it have a click sound? Does it spring back to you? If no to those then you will need to replace that door switch to start the dryer..
Now lets say that all of those check out, Then I would recommend calling a Pro. must repairs are made at affordable costs
